Amy Schmillen-
Receptionist/Dairy Cattle and
Wild Animal Nutritionist:
Amy joined the 4 PAWS team in
June 2006. She grew up in Peoria
and has always been fascinated
by science and animals. After high
school, Amy graduated with a B.S.
in Animal Science from the U of
Illinois. She volunteered in New
Orleans, LA as a zookeeper for
endagered species. A year later
she returned to the U of I to get a
Masters of Science in Dairy Cattle
Nutrition, focusing on protein
requirements in zoo animals.
Today, Amy is married to Pete and
they share their home with their
two adopted dogs, Dozer, a
Labrador Retriever and Turbo, a
Boston Terrier.
